Marukin Black Ebonite 1937 FP withOriginal Signed Box- RARE MINT

Marukin Black Ebonite 1937 FP w/Original Signed Box- RARE MINT. Marukin fountain pens are quite rare. What makes this Marukin even rarer still is that it includes its original box AND signed inscription from the Marukin founder!

He named this pen "Heavenly Dragon". This pen is in rare MINT condition. There are no visible scratches on the black ebonite cap or barrel and very little oxidation.

It looks to have been stored in its box for the better part of its 86 years. Rolled 14K cap band and clip are in beautiful condition with very little tarnish. Mint rare pre-war Marukin 14K nib. The original ink-stop even still holds without leaking!

The original signed inscription letter with this pen is an amazing treat. It was written by the company founder and pen maker, Kinichirou Kasahara, with this pen. The inscription reads "Heavenly Dragon" (pen's name), Showa 12.

Year" (1937), "Marukin, and then the founder's signature, followed by his hanko (family stamp) in red! Such a fantastic piece of Marukin history. They were known for producing extremely high-quality ebonite. Most of their pens, including this pen for sale, feature slightly thicker barrels.

For frame of reference, they are similar in thickness to vintage Aurora fountain pens. Very comfortable to hold and well-balanced. Marukin pens are also famous for their intricate design details. This pen features a knurled bulbous cap crown, and softly tapered cap band and ink-stop.

The overall design is elegant and well thought out. I have noticed that fewer Marukin fountain pens have come up for sale in the past few years. This is a wonderful opportunity to add a mint condition Marukin, complete with its box and inscription, to your collection. As a fellow avid collector of modern and vintage pens, I take great care in inspecting and cleaning every pen I sell.

This pen was carefully stored in to ensure the highest condition. Material: Ebonite with original pre-war 14K Marukin stamped nib.
