Gorgeous HM 22K & Rhodium Sceptre Pen in Spalted Spanish Oak & Swirled resin
Unique, Custom Hand Made Writing Instruments created by a Master Woodturner. This pen is the David Broadwell designed Sceptre is one of my favorite pens I have ever turned and features rich, 22K Gold plate and Rhodium finish that has a clear epoxy coated and makes it very durable and will last for many years. The pen has a screw on top which also screws on the back when using. This has such a great heft and feel its really nice to write with. The new owner of this will definitely turn some heads when this piece of art is brought out to write with. Features of the Broadwell Nouveau Sceptre Pen Kit. All exposed accent rings, bands and caps include elegant custom casted 3 dimensional Art Nouveau designs.
Components are cast, polished and plated with a durable 2 micron 22kt gold plate and Rhodium. Includes a Schmidt rhodium plated pen nib with a steel cartridge with a ceramic point. David Broadwell is an accomplished custom art knife and pen maker with twenty-five years experience shaping & sculpting a variety of metals, fine woods, ivories, and stone.

The really unique material on this pen is made from Natural Spalted Spanish oak with live edges that I hand picked and then cast in this gorgeous Swirled Mardi Gras colors pearlized Alumilight Resin that I then carefully turned into this gorgeous pen. It's a rather lengthy process but but wow is it gorgeous on this kit. It has so much character with fun color of the resin and the natural grain of the all natural Spanis oak that is spalted just right that pop out in this really funky piece.On this one of kind treasure with it's glassy smooth finish that has been sanded and polished by hand with 12000 grit micro mesh to a high luster. It then got 12 layers of super hard and durable CA finish followed by a wet polishing process and then 2 layers of the world's best, albeit very expensive but awesome friction wax. This is truly one of kind and pictures do not do this pen justice. I only make 1 or 2 pens a day and each and every one is handcraft by me in my shop. I will happily make a custom pen of just about any kind and from just about any wood or just about any material you could choose and because of my low volume I can get to it pretty quickly. I do not use and duplication tool so each pen is a 1 of kind original. I hand pick from over 30 species of gorgeous wood from all over the world for its grain, spalt, burl, and just unique characteristics. The pen started out in my shop as a rough piece of wood which goes through a many step process to produce a one of a kind working piece of art.
Every pen that I make is different in shape, color and pattern. The pens are made from a solid piece of wood with the grain oriented to match between the two barrels of the pen. It was turned by hand on my lathe in my small shop by me. Quality and painstakingly made and have a really nice heft and feel and are a real pleasure to write with and the make excellent gifts but be advised that once you get one of these in your hands you wont want to part with it.
